About Us

Rev. Peter Grant Hilton JD was ordained in 2012, and runs a Christian Life Skills Ministry. The aim of the ministry is to welcome parishioners of all faiths who need assistance in correcting their life directions. The focus is on Spirituality rather that a "Dogma of Religion" and we teach the "Life Skills" taught in religious texts.

In addition, the Ministry assists Private Security officers who are facing trying times in their employment and offers "Counselling, Mentoring and leadership" to help them navigate the rough waters of "Stress, Anxiety, Fatique and Tension" in the job environment.

Strength of Purpose for the Private Security Officer: is one way we teach the officer, to overcome the pitfalls which lay ahead of them in their employment and we show them "Knowledge Dispels Fear" an old British "Royal Air Force " motto.

One of the religious texts we teach them is the "Sheepdog and Wolf":

The "Sheepdog and wolf" concept isn't a single religious text but a powerful analogy from Christian scripture.

primarily Jesus' warning in Matthew 7:15 about "wolves in sheep's clothing" (false prophets) and John 10:11, where He is the Good Shepherd who protects His sheep.

Modern interpretations, popularized by figures like Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, expand this into a "Sheepdog" role for believers (Officers)

protectors who use their God-given strength (even potential for aggression) to defend the vulnerable flock (innocent people) from spiritual wolves (evil/false teachers), embodying courage and service over predation.

False Prophets: Individuals who claim to speak for God but lead people astray with false teachings.

Sheep's Clothing: An outward appearance of harmlessness, humility, or righteousness, like gentle sheep.

Ravenous Wolves: Inwardly, they are dangerous, predatory, and destructive, harming believers.

Context: Part of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:15-23), emphasizing discerning true spiritual guidance from deceit, often tied to the "good tree, bad tree" analogy (recognizing them by their "fruit" or life's outcome)

John 10:11 is a pivotal Bible verse where Jesus declares, "I am the good shepherd.

The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep," highlighting His sacrificial love, protective guidance, and divine role as the ultimate spiritual leader who willingly dies to save humanity, contrasting Himself with hirelings who abandon the flock in danger.

This statement, found in the Gospel of John, emphasizes His unique relationship with His followers (the sheep) and foreshadows His crucifixion and resurrection.

los Angeles Loss Prevention offers National Rifle Association (NRA) classes to the Public and Security Officers.


Peter G. Hilton JD, Owner and Chief Instructor of Los Angeles Loss Prevention (Established in 1985), is certified by the NRA to teach Basic Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, CCW and Range Safety Officer classes. Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Firearms Courses and Security Officer Skills courses. California Department of Justice (CADOJ) Firearms Safety Classes and CCW Classes



NRA CLASSES

Security Officers are regulated by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) in California, and any poerson who works as a Security Guard/Officer must have undergone "Recomended and Mandatory" training prior to being hired by a "Church'Religious Location to provide Security Services. This includes "Contract and In House (propriety) Security"

BSIS Mandates Security Training which must be conducted through a Specific BSIS Licensed Training Facility or and approved Training Facility, authorised to teach private Security related training. Los Angeles Loss Prevention (LALP) is a Licened BSIS Firearms and Baton Facility, in addition, we are apporved by the NRA a Firearms Instructors, and the CADOJ for "Firearms Safety Card and CCW" Instruction.

Other Non Veteran Applicants can also attend Firearms class for the Price of $225.00, However, If you do not have a Guard Card, The Firearms Class, includes the Guard Card Training Free with payment for the FA Class.

NRA FIREARMS CLASSES FOR VETERANS AT REDUCED PRICES

NRA RANGE SAFETY OFFiCER (RSO) CLASS 9 HOURS

This class certifies you to work at a range as a Range Safety Officer (RSO). A NRA credentials is recognised Nationwide. You can start earning over $25.00 per hour working for a Range as an RSO

The class is 9 hours and includes three (3) opportunities to voluntary work at a range and put your training into practice as an RSO and is inlcuded in the Fee. This gives you the opportunity to learn valuble elements of the work.
